The late Haj Hayel Saeed Anam was born in 1902 corresponding to 1323 H. in the village of Qaradh - Arouk - Hujaryyah - Taiz Governorate , Yemen .
He was the third son of four sons . He learnt writing & reading and completed learning the Holy Quran at an early age , influenced by the environment in which he was brought up .
At the beginning of his life , he worked in sewing clothes and selling what he made . Through that activity , he learnt the trading knowledge . His mother died when he was in his early adolescence .

He left his village , Qaradh , heading towards Aden city After that , he began a migration journey which took him to different marine stations looking for livelihood . He immigrated to France where he stayed for almost ten years . Then he returned to Aden once again .
Through his work in Aden , France and Somalia he gained different knowledge about work methods and the administrative systems in trading and manufacturing fields .
The early emergence of the family partnership concept embodied in the appointment of his nephew Ali Mohammed Saeed to help him in the increasing burden of work .
He opened a small retailing shop which was rapidly transformed into a trading center and a connection between the local and foreign entities . Despite the difficulties he faced during that period, he continued his activity through a company owned by a French businessman .
His trading activity was greatly flourished and he planted the first seeds of the Group in 1938 . He opened a company that was specialized in the distribution of foodstuffs . Its activities was developed in the field of import , export and general agencies . He called that company ((Hayel Saeed Anam & Brothers)) .
The first son to the late Haj Hayel Saeed , Ahmed , joined the company which was greatly expanded to include storage of goods and wheat`s mill . Then a new company to export to Somalia was opened . This company was managed by the son , Ahmed , in Barbara - Somalia .
In 1970 , the late Haj Hayel Saeed Anam established the Yemeni Company for Industry and Commerce in Taiz . It was the first manufacturing company in Taiz with one biscuit factory and a German technology .
Hayel Saeed , with some leaders of the Group , continued the investment in projects that include manufacturing , trading , services , agriculture and foreign marketing . All that projects are based on the partnership principle and the public participation depending on the good reputation and trust that distinguished him , his brothers and his partners .

He was decisive in following up the general performance of the Group`s companies and keen to prepare the future leadership from the family on the basis of education and training locally and abroad . He sought also the help of the competent and experience expatriates.
 He made a balance between the requirements of work and production , from one side , and the human values and principles , the improvement of the work environment for all levels of employees & workers , from the other side .
All people recognized that he is the one to be consulted when need arises . He was the supporter for all the poor people using his capabilities and energies to guide all those who consulted him . He never hesitated , since the establishment of his projects , to voluntarily provide help to anyone in need .
 He established the "Hayel Saeed Anam Charitable Society" in 1970 to participate in fulfilling the needs of the society such as schools , hospitals , mosques , wells to provide drinkable water , opening of roads , helping in eradication of illiteracy and promotion of scientific and cultural research in all the Governorates of Yemen .

The living manners of the late Haj Hayel Saeed Anam are characterized as honesty in expression and warmth in feelings.
He used to prepare a daily agenda to visit the needy people and hospitals , distributing Zakat (Alms) and receiving the complaints about the areas that are deprived of basic requirements of living .
The late Haj Hayel Saeed Anam died on Monday 27th of Ramadan , 1410 Hejri ,corresponding to 23rd of April , 1990 .
He left this world after he took challenges and fought great battles for the sake of reform & construction that benefit society . He was , truly , the witness of the age and the late who is still alive through his good deeds that cover all the regions of Yemen and some other parts of the world . His memory will never disappear from the hearts and minds of people generation after generation .
